This painting. Oy. Found it in a thrift store in Pittsboro, NC last year. Three bucks and worth every penny. Hipsters know about the big-eyed kid paintings of the 1960s by Margaret Keane, the cutting edge of ghastly appalling kitsch of its day, like Hummel figurines, Tom Clark gnomes, or Thomas Kinkaide's faux-Victorian "light" paintings. This is NOT a genuine Keane, but a knockoff, and not just a knockoff, but a BIZARRE Vietnam soldier version, replete with a sickly-sweet, glurge-y poem that isn't event broken up into the correct lines:
A Mother's love is like a rose hung on your chest It reveals beauty and charm at its best My Mother's love is the world you see For it means so very much to me I'm so glad that God above gave to me such a Mother's Love
Hallmark, fire up those copyright lawyers! Also the painting has a handly spot where you can customize the signature. Here it's Larry. Larry, um, did you really think your Mom's was gonna like this present? Well, it's the thought that counts and war is hell.

Have you ever thought about water as a fuel source?
The atomic make up of water makes the molecule perfect for a fuel source.
The water molecule is composed of two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen.
When the water molecule is separated into its component atoms (H and O) and oxidized as fuel, the resulting energy is two and one half times more powerful than gasoline. The byproduct of the combustion is water vapor. Making water as a fuel, powerful and pollution free!...
The problem has always been how to separate water economically. Traditional methods of separating the bond of the water molecule have resulted in failure. To power a car by these methods would not move the car very far.
The cars electrical system could not recharge from the process quickly enough. The result would be a quickly drained battery. For many years Stanley Meyer researched this problem and found a way around it!
There are many people, as you could well imagine, who would not like to see this technology appear in the market place.
Stanley A. Meyer died on March 27 1998 at the young age of 57. It is vital that his research and resulting technological advances are not lost, but rather that his work is continued.
Join in the creative spirit and challenge (that is not driven by greed) and help in an endeavor that will revolutionize the world. This effort will provide an efficient fuel source which is environmentally safe.
If you have a genuine interest in what you have just read, want to experiment, or can contribute in anyway, follow the information on the website and feel free to Stan Meyer's Waterdriven Car http://www.waterfuelcell.org/ (1 of 6) [3/16/2008 5:51:40 AM]

http://www.thinkprogress.org/2007/09/22/romney-blackwater/ ormer Republican Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has remained silent
Romney, Advised By Blackwater’s Vice Chairman, Stays Silent On Blackwater Shootings <http://thinkprogress.org/2007/09/22/romney-blackwater/>» Several presidential candidates have spoken out in support of tighter regulations <http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0907/5968_Page2.html> governing private security contractors in Iraq after the recent shooting involving Blackwater USA <http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/21/AR2007092102271.html?hpid=topnews>. Former Republican Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has remained silent <http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0907/5968.html> though. Not only has his campaign not issued a statement, but as the Politico reports, it has refused to even answer any questions: Romney’s campaign has declined to answer specific questions posed by Politico about issues central to the debate — issues now being hashed out by Congress, the State Department and the Iraqi government. […] After the shooting, though, a Romney spokesman would not say whether Black has advised Romney on the use of security contractors in Iraq. Nor would he elaborate on Black’s role in the campaign or answer specific questions about whether the U.S.’s level of oversight over security contractors is adequate. Romney has a clear interest not condemning Blackwater. Cofer Black, vice chairman of Blackwater, currently serves as a Senior Adviser for counterterrorism and national security issues on the Romney campaign. From the April press release <http://www.mittromney.com/News/Press-Releases/Cofer_Black_Joins_Romney_Campaign> announcing that Black would be joining the campaign:“I am pleased to welcome Cofer Black to our campaign. He has a long and impressive career dedicated to making America safer and more secure in the world,” said Governor Romney. “Our country faces a new generation of challenges and Black’s experience at the forefront of our nation’s counterterrorism efforts will be a tremendous asset.” The recent incident was not the first violent episode that involved Blackwater in Iraq. Iraqi officials are now investigating “allegations about the security firm’s involvement in six other violent episodes <http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/21/AR2007092102271.html?hpid=topnews> this year that left at least 10 Iraqis dead.” The day before the Coalition Provisional Authority ceased to exist, L. Paul Bremer, then the chief American envoy in Iraq, issued an order that “granted American private security contractors immunity from prosecution <http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/17/AR2007091700238_2.html?hpid=moreheadlines> in Iraqi courts.” Black previously served as the CIA’s chief of counterrorism. In 2001, he infamously ordered an agent to “Capture Bin Laden, kill him and bring his head back in a box on dry ice <http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4511943.stm>.” UPDATE: Steve Clemons at The Washington Note has more <http://www.thewashingtonnote.com/archives/002360.php>.http://thinkprogress.org/2007/09/22/romney-blackwater/
