In 1994, a bunch of brave progressives had grown so disgusted with the rapacious policies of the
World Bank - the well-known trope of: lend more money to a poor country than it can pay back;
send Bank officials to inspect country's economy, require "restructuring" f/b/o major corporations;
country has brief economic resuscitation, then falls terminally broke in the hands of a corrupt
dictatorship nourished by the Bank and its cronies - that this little group formed an organization
with the clear, outlandish name of Fifty Years Is Enough, purpose being to dissolve the entire Bank
enterprise.
A dozen years later, Wolfowitz is made head of the Bank. He (who speaks fluent Bahasa Indonesia)
looks around, sees the prodigious internal and external waste generated by this international
money vacuum, and explains that it needs to be cleaned up.

indeed issued - with the heading "United States Note", instead of "Federal Reserve Note" - but were quickly withdrawn after Kennedy's death. Records show that Kennedy issued $4,292,893,825 of true money. It was clear that Kennedy was out to eliminate the criminal Federal Reserve System. It is interesting to note that, only one day after Kennedy's assassination, all the United States notes which Kennedy had issued were called out of circulation. All of the money President Kennedy had created was destroyed, and not a word was said to the American people.

In 1962, the Joint Chiefs of Staff presented Kennedy with Operation Northwoods. Operation Northwoods would have had our own government inflicting terrorist attacks upon US citizens, and blaming it on our enemies, to justify wars and political assassinations. Kennedy rejected it. He planned to abolish the CIA's right to conduct covert operations, and eventually dismantle it. Kennedy said he would "splinter the CIA into a Thousand Pieces". Strangely, in 2006, an Associated Press article came out about presidential scribblings. It made a bizarre reference to a John F. Kennedy doodle in which he seemingly predicted the "9-11 conspiracy" 40 years before it happened! It said: "President Kennedy, known for separating his life into compartments, would enclose words and numbers inside circles and boxes. Events long after his death give one doodle a bizzare chill: a small circle with the numbers "9-11" contained within. Just to the lower left on the page, the word "conspiracy" is underlined." This is part of a book, Presidential Doodles, which analyses the jottings of eight commanders in chief. What kind of astronomical coincidence could see JFK - himself the target of a conspiracy - accurately forecast a major world event decades beforehand? Kennedy's intent to abolish the Federal Reserve Bank, and his rejection of Operation Northwoods planted the seeds of the CIA's assassination of Kennedy.
Lee Harvey Oswald was linked to virtually every group that had a reason to want Kennedy dead. In the years before Kennedy's death as a Marine, Oswald worked as a radar operator at U-2 spy plane bases. After leaving the Marines he defected to the Soviet Union. While in Russia he married the niece of a KGB colonel, and he lived in relative luxury, likely in exchange for false or already outdated information he passed to the Russians. Oswald apparently pretended to be a traitor to America, while actually working for the CIA. On returning to the U.S. Oswald propagandized for Castro's Cuba out of a New Orleans building he shared with a CIA/FBI agent trying to overthrow Castro named Guy Banister. Delphine Roberts worked for Banister. She said that, "Mr. Banister had been a special agent for the FBI and CIA." She saw her CIA agent boss meet with Lee Harvey Oswald in September 1963. This story was supported by her daughter, who also met Oswald during this period. Oswald also distributed Pro-Castro leaflets in New Orleans in 1963, with the address of his CIA contact Banister stamped on them.

There was a three-page letter from CIA Director John McCone to Secret Service Chief James Rowley in which McCone acknowledges Oswald worked for the CIA, and was in Russia for that purpose, not as a defector. It discussed how this information should be withheld from the Warren Commission. Allen Dulles' advice to other members of the Warren Commission was that CIA operatives consider it their patriotic duty to lie under oath if necessary to protect "Company" secrets. A Dallas deputy sheriff, Allen Sweatt, was quoted as saying that Oswald was being paid $200 a month by the government at the time of the assassination, and had been assigned an informant number. In October 1963 Oswald moved to Dallas where he got a job in the Texas Book Depository for $1.25 an hour boxing and shipping books. It's beyond strange how someone who was so clearly connected to the CIA would just happen to get a job working at one of the best sniping points in Dallas, by which the President's open car motorcade would just happen to pass a few weeks after he started working there. Oswald was set up to be the fall guy. On November 22, 1963 at the book depository, around 12:15, secretary Carolyn Arnold saw Oswald in the second floor snack room, where she said he went for a Coke. He was sitting in one of the booths alone, as usual, and appeared to be having lunch. She testified: "I did not speak to him, but I recognized him clearly. I remember it was 12:15 or later. It could have been 12:25, five minutes before the assassination, I don't exactly remember." At the same time, Bonnie Ray Williams was on the sixth floor until 12:20, and he saw nobody. Down on the street, Arnold Rowland saw two men in the sixth floor windows, presumably after Bonnie Ray Williams finished his lunch and left.

America by the Dulles brothers, William Casey and others have broken through the
media blackout. Thesestories usually revolve around former concentration camp
guards who hid their identity when emigrating.
What makes this different is that General Ghelen was the #1 Nazi in this program.
By acknowledging a CIA connection to Ghelen the entire can of worms can now be
pried open.

I was ready to support the removal of Paul Wolfowitz from the World Bank until I read that among the papers he released was
the background to the scandal. While he was still interviewing for the job, he revealed to the WB Board that his girlfriend
was on the staff and he thought that to settle the issue, he should be recused from all decisions regarding her job. The
Board said no, that the only way to deal with the conflict was to fire her, but that she should get a promotion and pay
increase (to be negotiated) to compensate her for her damaged career. Then the staff insisted that PW would have to approve
the terms of the deal. It was a set-up, through and through. The WB staff is angry at PW's anti-corruption campaign (it is
SO much easier to enrich a dictator than to force him to distribute a loan to help the poor, so PW's campaign was a real
threat to their modus operandi), and this is the sleazy way they dealt with it. The Weekly Standard has a good piece on this
on their website.
And to suggest Spitzer at the head of the WB is totally loopy. He settled Wall Street crimes by getting a cash settlement from
investment banks for a fraction of what their crimes brought them. If you stole a billion dollars, wouldn't you settle for
paying a 100 million fine in exchange for keeping the rest? Spitzer would also prepare indictments which conveniently left
out people who committed the same crimes but had contributed cash to his campaigns. Anti-corruption Eliot? Get real!

NEW YORK (AP) -- Oded Balilty was covering a violent clash in the West Bank last year when
he came across a haunting image: Israeli officers in riot gear pushing against a lone Jewish
settler who resisted their charge with all her might. "I saw this woman hesitate a little bit,
and I saw the line of the police and I just grabbed my camera," he said. "It just was there."
The photo won The Associated Press photographer the Pulitzer Prize for breaking news
photography on Monday. The image stemmed from a clash in the West Bank settlement of
Amona, east of the Palestinian town of Ramallah, in February 2006. About 200 people were
wounded as hundreds of stone-throwing Jewish settlers resisted a forced evacuation of the
illegal outpost. The violence came after a court allowed the demolition of nine homes at the site.
Balilty said he and a colleague were covering the clashes and at one point, they decided to
split up and stake out different positions. That's when he captured the woman's fierce resistance.
"It is a stunning single image that captures the chaos and emotion of that evacuation," AP
Executive Editor Kathleen Carroll said Monday.
The picture has previously been honored in photojournalism competitions, including World
Press Photo, Pictures of the Year International (POYi), National Press Photographers Association,
Atlanta Photojournalism 2006 and Headliner Awards 2007. Balilty credited his editors and
colleagues for their support and help.
"This picture is the best example of the perfect teamwork," he said in a telephone interview
from Jerusalem, where he was born and is based. He was hired by the AP for its Jerusalem photo
staff in 2002.
Balilty's award marked the AP's 49th Pulitzer and the 30th for photos. He was also part of a team
of photographers who were finalists in the breaking news category for their coverage of the war in
Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah. It is a rare feat for any one reporter or photographer to
be nominated twice in one category, said Sig Gissler, administrator of the Pulitzers.
"I feel like today I kissed the moon. It's amazing," Balilty said.
"I never even imagined it would happen to me."

within houses or small built environments using vision as main source of information.

Flying indoor implies a number of challenges that are not found in outdoor autonomous flight.
These include small size and slow speed for maneuverability, light weight to stay airborne,
low-consumption electronics, and smart sensing and control to fly in textured environments.
We think that neuromorphic vision chips and control architecture are promising and suitable
methods for this challenge because they satisfy the criteria mentioned above.
The project is articulated along three, tightly integrated, research directions:
Mechatronics of indoor microflyers (Jean-Christophe Zufferey, André Guignard, EPFL);
Neuromorphic vision chips (Rico Möckel, INI);
Insect-inspired flight control strategies (Antoine Beyeler, EPFL).
We plan to take inspiration from flying insects both for the design of the vision chips and for the choice of
neural control architectures. Instead, for the design of the micro-flyers, we intend to develop innovative
solutions and improvements to micro-helicopter and micro-airplanes.
Vision-based Obstacle Avoidance and Altitude Control
Abstract—We aim at developing autonomous micro-flyers
capable of navigating within houses or small built
environments. The severe weight and energy constraints
of indoor flying platforms led us to take inspiration from
flying insects for the selection of sensors, signal processing,
and behaviors. This paper presents the control strategies
enabling obstacle avoidance and altitude control using only
optic flow and gyroscopic information. For experimental
convenience, the control strategies are first implemented
and tested separately on a small wheeled robot featuring
the same hardware as the targeted aircraft. The obstacle
avoidance system is then transferred to a 30-gram aircraft,
which demonstrates autonomous steering within a square
textured arena.

Don't miss Seth Leibsohn's short piece on Professor Liviu Lebrescu
who was among those killed at Virginia Tech yesterday. Professor
Lebrescu is also the subject of the Jerusalem Post article Scott linked
to below.
Seth notes that Lebrescu, a holacaust survivor, sacrificed his life to
save his students. He was shot while blocking the door to his
classroom, while students jumped out the window. More than sixty
years after his liberation, the rescued became the rescuer.
In a 1974 speech in which he introduced returning POW John
McCain to the CPAC convention, Ronald Reagan asked where we
find such men. He answered, "We [find] them in our streets, in the
offices, the shops and the working places of our country and on the
farms." Professor Lebrescu's heroism reminds us that we also find
them among those who come to this country from other lands.
