Hydrogen as a Lifting Agent - Hydrogen Balloons !
Ah.. One of my personal favorite subjects. Flying in a lighter then air lifting body filled with Hydrogen. Before you say the word Hindenberg and I'm forced to slap you go read the section on myths in the book regarding the Hindenberg.
The Hindenberg would of burned even if it was filled with Helium. The SCIENCE is clear. The catastrophe of ignorance and fear that resulted from that incident has held back modern aviation and transworld cargo for decades. Lighter than air flight will again be done with hydrogen and it will open the globe up even more than the 747 has today.
I guarantee it. ( huge market here incidentally, just waiting for someone with courage and determination). What is more interesting, is how hydrogen filled balloons were used doing the civil war.
What the reader will find even MORE interesting is how the Union had portable hydrogen generators to fill up these balloons that lifted men up into the air for observation and artillery spotting. Here we are today trying to make a portable hydrogen generator and it was used extensively in the civil war and yes, Roy tells you exactly how they worked and even shows you the chemistry. One of the wonderful things to remember about the hydrogen, solar and energy field is that most of this is NOT cutting edge technology. Only the people who want to suck up your money and hype their stock want you to think that its the highest form of technology.
It really is the reinvention and modernization of 100 to 200 year old technology. Hydrogen is really high school level chemistry ( well.. what used to be high school level )
The Real Secret in the Book, ...and its not Hydrogen. Most of you are not going to understand this. You might have to read this paragraph twice, or more.
If you really understand this you will understand more about hydrogen and the future than 99.9% of the wannabe hydrogen advocates out there. This theme is throughout the book and most people don't see it and say they can't see the trees because the forest is in the way. I am very serious here, read carefully. A few examples first; When I was in the Scientific Labs of Chrysler I went to our foundry for a project. ( Foundries melt and pour steel or other metals, in this case for engines.) They had a saying, " We are the only place in the company that "MAKES" anything.
Everyone else just assembles the car." This is a very true statement. When someone asks me what type of small business they should start I say, " Candle Making.". Understand this example, making something from a mold is the ROOT of wealth creation. You make something MORE valuable than the ingredients that went into it.
Real estate agents, car dealerships, lawyers, sales people and prostitutes are all the same, they only provide a service. Dollars are exchanged for a service, a wealth or additional value is not created. If I take 10 cents in wax and a 1 penny wick and make it in the shape of a teddy bear and sell it for $10 I've created wealth. Now the point: Gasoline, Diesel, Oil, Natural Gas are all called HYDROCARBONS. <-- See the word CARBON in there. What did I say earlier about Carbon?
This means the liquid or the gas is ONLY made out of Hydrogen ( H ) and Carbon (C) atoms. Nothing else. The most common form of elemental carbon you see everyday is either charcoal briquettes or the graphite in a pencil lead. Don't let this fool you. The hydrogen can be removed from the HydroCarbon and used for vehicle transportation and the Carbon can be turned into CARBON FIBER.
Carbon fiber is stronger than steel.
You can make physical things with it like cars, buildings, beams, plates, rope, houses, fabric, shirts, bullet proof vests. It can also be thermally conductive or thermally insulating so it can be the insulation in your house and it can be the frying pan on your stove.
It can be electrically conductive or it can be an electrical insulation. So it can replace copper wire AND in another formulation it can be the insulation around the copper wire. Carbon can and will build the world. So when you take the Hydrogen out of the oil and use it for fuel ( that is a service ) you also take the carbon out of the oil and you make things ( you create wealth ).
That is what Roy means by Hydrogen being the key to a Wealth Expanding Economy. You can either read his book or you can understand it. The choice is yours, but you won't find this in anyone else's book. Read this paragraph twice.

I have decided to run a small engine on a low voltage electrolysis cell. The power supply will be from a arc welder with additional circuitry to supply a rectified DC output up to 100amp if need be .
This experiment will be to record the amount of gas needed to run the engine continuously. I will then try and increase efficiency with ideas that may allow a overall reduction of gas needed to sustain the engine. These future modifications will include....

The Cell Tero Ranta came up with a brilliant low voltage series cell design, it can be viewed here. Tero has been a great asset to low voltage and general experimentation. I have changed a few things with his design for my personal needs, nothing is wrong with his design I just over engineer things sometimes probably unnecessarily.
My drawings of the cell can be viewed here (Ms Paint). I have not yet had time to double check dimensions..(more information soon). I will be building the cell soon when I can afford to...I do not advise anyone to attempt to build this, It could be potential lethal if it exploded!

The Engine My engines capacity is approx 70cc (I will verify that soon). I have kept the engine internals standard but have modified it to have a electric start and have a 2 to 1 reduction drive to fire the spark every 720 degrees. This will prevent the waste spark causing a Backfire. I also have a T piece that will allow gas to enter through the intake manifold. The two tank system may be used for other experiments where water is primarily used. The end picture shows the sensor I am using to help trigger the ignition coil....more soon.

I have also obtained sample pieces of porous metal that might work as a backflash arrestor....more soon again don't build anything above it's dangerous!
The Engine Gas Requirements After some time of discussion I have came to a conclusion that my engine will need approx 10 litres per minute of Hydrogen/Oxygen from the electrolyser to run it constantly. This means that it will produce 6.6 litres per minute of Hydrogen Oxygen may help in the combustion but is not really needed never the less it will produce 4.4 litres per minute of Oxygen.

It seems in my examination (see forum) that it should be able to run with much lower Hydrogen per minute ratios but this may effect the power. Hopefully a stronger ignition and higher compression ratios will increase the power so lower fuel ratios can be used?... maybe we have to look more into precise port hydrogen injection for improved performance as well?
I suppose this is exactly why I am building this little engine and powering it with Hydrogen on demand so it can give some real proof of concept to these ideas on improving efficiency.
The two to one reduction drive Electronics and High Voltage energy Ignition
The circuit I am using is designed by Ronald for the spark triggering system. and can be viewed here I have completed 90% of it and had it triggering by hand when it was rotated the disc. I blew the mosfet for some reason so I am fiddling with the circuit at the moment. The high voltage capacitor that I will be using was also designed by Ronald Ronald gives these details...refer below
Either get a high voltage capacitor or make one out of aluminum foil. Mine is: Three 10" x 10" sheets of 0.125 plexiglass Two 8.5" x 8.5" sheets of heavy duty aluminum foil Put together in a sandwich (plexi - foil - plexi - foil - plexi) (I just taped around the edges to hold it together). This gives you 298 pico-farads of capacitance.
Make sure you have a wire lead from each foil. Put this inline between the spark plug and the ignition coil. (Coil>>>>>Homemade Capacitor>>>>>>>Sprk Plug)
If you use a commercial HV capacitor, don't go over .001 - .003 mf. You want a big quick powerful spark.......you don't want a long one. If your capacitor gets too big, it won't discharge all the way, and if it gets really big.....nothing will happen because you won't have enough spark to charge it. Ronald

I hope to build a High voltage Cell either Stanley Meyer based or Eccles design see here . This Patent By Eccles is based on the similar theory and is more simple to replicate initially.

The MB-4 Aircraft Towing Tractor, a four wheel drive, four wheel steer, 14,000 pound drawbar pull vehicle was converted from a diesel powered mechanical drive vehicle to a fuel cell powered electric drive vehicle. The integration effort, accomplished by Concurrent Technologies Corporation, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, incorporates a Hydrogenics, Incorporated 65kW Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell system, Dynetek Industries’ carbon fiber wrap hydrogen storage system and Enova’s Panther 120 Drive System. The combination of these subsystems enables the vehicles towing capacity to remain unchanged, while the addition of a power inverter enhanced the vehicles capability by permitting power generated by the fuel cell to be delivered to aircraft and/or ancillary support equipment.
The vehicle was transported to Hickam AFB, Hawaii by Marine C-130 airlift on the 20th of October, 2006. The vehicle will be put through a demonstration/validation program while in daily use at Hickam AFB.

The new Hybrid Fuel Cells and how they are made. The big question is "where does the so called 'non-polluting' hydrogen come from?" It comes from a polluting process called "reforming" (or "steam reforming"). In this process a hydrocarbon fuel that contains hydrogen (coal, oil, natural gas) is "reformed" creating hydrogen and carbon dioxide (CO2) as well as other pollutants. The CO2 and pollutants are released into the atmosphere.
The fundamental difference between a fuel cell car and an internal combustion engine car is that the hydrogen fuel for the fuel cell car is manufactured in a factory and the CO2 is released into the atmosphere at the hydrogen factory. In a conventional car, the CO2 is released wherever the car is being driven.
Fuel cell proponents have invented the concept of "sequestration" which means that the CO2 will be buried in the ground at the factory site, although that has not been done as yet. Like the nuclear waste to be stored at Yucca flats, the CO2 will hopefully stay underground for several centuries.
Ninety-six percent of the hydrogen used today comes from this reforming process, with natural gas the primary "feedstock" (48 percent) for the "reformation," followed by oil (30 percent) and coal (18 percent). The small remainder (4 percent) comes from electrolysis, which is a process of separating water into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity.
Hydrogen usage must be evaluated for its merits and weaknesses in many areas. It seems to be the ideal fuel for launching space ships. This does not mean it will be an effective replacement for internal combustion engines.
It may do poorly in that area but be effective as a load leveling system for the daily and seasonal fluctuations of power production by solar or wind – no one yet knows.
It is the description of it as a panacea that is questionable.
The fact that it has some applicability does not make it a proven replacement for today's power networks.
An alternative approach to the fuel cell is to use the natural gas from which hydrogen is made as a fuel for natural gas powered cars and the oil from which hydrogen is made for ICE cars.
Since there are already natural gas engines and Internal Combustion Engines, it is not clear why the fuel cell needs to be developed.
Hydrogen is that component of "hydrocarbon fossil fuels" which is burned in conventional engines. Pollution will occur either at the factory or at the car.
It is important to determine which is the most efficient way to use the resource.
Today's FUEL CELL will become a thing of the past.
The cleanest way & most efficient way to get hydrogen and oxygen (egas or Brown's Gas) is from electrolysis, straight from water. "On Board Electrolysis" is what it's called. You make the egas as you drive, no tank storage. The trick is to make enough so when you floor it, you will have ample egas <http://www.egaspower.com>. The emission off pure water = more water vapor.
Basically a self-generatiing fuel called H2O. ICE mechanics have been only told about gasoline or diesel or propane as a fuel. They have heard about egas, but all say it will not produce enough gas to run a V8 motor at 75 mph. up hill. They will laugh at you, it is that bad. When in fact you can get these results.The secret lies in a frequency generated in the cells to shake of more bubbles and that egas expands 100 fold when ignited in the cylinders.
Many <inventors.html> have achieved this! All their inventions, patents, not being manufactured.
Many have been bought out. The guy Pogue, who built a 200 mpg carburetor was bought out. I believe Dingel was bought out by BMW. They sign something saying they will be quiet, so that they can continue to getting large sums of cash. The stubborn ones who say no this free technology is for mankind from God, these inventors disappear or get poisoned. No joke. No lye.
It is so simple it blows you away.

Productivity would incorporate utilizing the best soil for growing food. This means we need to STOP building on our prime soil. Further we should actively teraform earths growing wastelands into firtal land.
Following significant change as here proposed we can then consider which planets to teraform in near by systems. The moon needs to be turned into a space station

Here are current commercial ventures with the water fuel cell. You will notice that all of these water fuel cells use regular tape water, have high frequency direct low current pulsating electronics, far more effiecient than regular electrolysis, and produce a fuel that burns at a variable temperature depending on the material it is touching. For example when it touches tungsten it burns hotter than the surface of the sun. Conclusions; this is the fuel of the future if there will be one.
After competing in the Tour de Sol’s Monte Carlo style Mileage competition against the “leading edge” of technologies, I figured it was time to do another analysis of mileage gains versus cost for the competition’s technology.Last year I analyzed the cost versus benefit of the Honda Civic vs the Honda Civic hybrid vehicles, since that was the only model on the roads last year that could be compared.
This year there are at least four models of hybrid vehicles that have comparable non-hybrid models.Using EPA’s mileage numbers and manufacturers’ suggested retail price as benchmarks, I did the following analysis for this year’s models.All basic models compared were the basic standard shift model with no additional options.

Averaging all four vehicles we get a 15.15% increase in average mileage for an average price difference of $10,212.50. Now there is an idea of where the “leading edge” of technology is taking us.
If you are the typical environmentally friendly “Yuppy,” you are spending a whopping $10,000 to improve your gas mileage by 15%.Of course no average environmentally friendly “Yuppy” would consider “saving the environment” by keeping their old vehicle for a couple more years and installing the Hydrogen Boost system to achieve that 15% increase in mileage for a whole lot less money.Nor would that average environmentally friendly “Yuppy” ever consider changing his driving habits slightly to get a 20-40% increase in mileage without any extra hardware.
But lucky for us who have to breath the air spewed out by these “environmentally friendly” Yuppy’s vehicles, we can save most of the $10,000 cost of that so called “leading edge” technology, still drive our SUVs, and also save the cost of a lot of otherwise wasted fuel, by simply installing and implementing the Hydrogen Boost system.Or if we really care about our environment and our wallets, we could all drive a reasonable size vehicle like the Honda Civic, or Accord, or Ford Escape, or if we need a work truck a Chevy Silverado, and implement the Hydrogen Boost system, which will pay for itself long before our vehicle is paid off.
