Aspirin. The potential for aspirin to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke by as much as 50% is well accepted but when G.D. Searle first tried to inform the public of that truthful information, FDA forbad the drug giant from doing it. Now research reveals that aspirin can reduce the risk of cancer by as much as 60% when taken over a five year period. Armed with this new information, physicians will increasingly recommend that those 50 and older commence a low dose aspirin regimen. Although stomach bleeding is a risk and makes use of aspirin inadvisable for those with bleeding issues, many adults with a family history of hypertension, atherosclerosis, strokes, and cancer will now be candidates for this simple, highly effective means to either delay or prevent potentially lethal and catastrophic thrombosis and cancer. FDA, however, will not let this information appear on labeling or in advertising until more studies are performed and until the drug giant petitions for claim approval, which could keep life saving information from the public for years.
Health Reform Law. Three cases, including ours in Ohio, the Virginia Attorney General’s in Virginia; and several other state attorneys general actions in Florida may succeed in invalidating the Obama Health Reform Law scheduled to take principal effect on January 1, 2014. Courts in each of those jurisdictions have denied efforts by the government to dismiss the actions. Unless a federal court acts to hold the law unconstitutional, millions of Americans who can afford health insurance but choose not to buy it will be forced to expend between $5,000 and $15,000 each year on qualified health insurance plans. That forced induction of millions of Americans into the health insurance market will provide a huge windfall for the insurance industry and will impose an effective tax on productive Americans vastly greater than the tax increase that will occur if Congress fails to extend the Bush era tax deductions. Moreover, this will be the first instance in American history where Americans have been forced by the federal government to purchase a private product. If not invalidated, the precedent will enable Congress to compel Americans to purchase all manner of goods with their after tax dollars that the Congress deems in the public interest (e.g., electric cars; solar panels; food deemed health enhancing; etc.)
European Union. The European Union has been forced to bail out banks and help finance debtor nations like Greece while demanding that its member states cut spending and increase taxes. The combined effect is causing the typical European who already loathes the EU to coalesce into groups opposing EU membership and advocating renewed separate state status. The EU was supposed to be a kind of United States of Europe. Instead, it has become a means by which the separate cultural and legal identities of European states have been diminished in favor of a massive bureaucratic state. The cost of the EU is huge while the benefits flowing back to people in the member states are negligible, if any.
Robotic Warfare. Increasingly, the United States, Israel, Great Britain, France, and Germany are relying on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to perform continuous surveillance of suspected terrorists and insurgents, carrying hellfire and other missile munitions, and piloted thousands of miles away. The prospect now exists for most search and destroy missions and even conventional combat to be performed by unmanned aerial and terrestrial vehicles piloted in safe locations away from the field of battle. In the not so distant future interoperability problems will be resolved, enabling unmanned vehicles on land to communicate with those in the air, sharing intelligence in the hunt for enemy combatants, tracking them to the point of verifying their status, and then delivering ordinance from 30 to 40,000 feet in the air via laser guided munitions and verifying the kills with unmanned land roving vehicles. Indeed, in the not so distant future, UAVs will carry and deliver variously sized and equipped land rovers that will be able to enter caves and perform subterranean search and destroy missions. The face of battle is changing to eliminate the human face and incorporate robotics, reserving human intervention to times and places that are deemed secure and void of a significant threat. The savings in American and allied lives will be substantial, while the loss of enemy life will be maximized.

Federal agencies heads are appointed not elected, so they can create laws without the consent of even elected officials. This is exactly what the founding fathers did not want to happen - the creation of a bureaucratic oligarchy.
Chapters cover the FDA and Medicare, and show how these agencies abuse power. The FDA is nothing more than a subsidiary of big pharma. People die from drug approvals that should never have happened just so the agency heads can get a nice paying job after they leave office.
Emord, a constitutional lawyer, outlines how to dismantle our current regulatory state and return our nation to the way it was envisioned to be by the founders. He gets into legal remedies here, but it was not deep enough to make me lose interest.

The Rise Of Tyranny - Testimony By R Smith (Smithsburg MD) People need to know if credible science points to nutritonal science, better hygiene, better nutrition, sleep, exercise, and avoidance of all toxins in our food, water, and environment (including medicines) as a better prevention and therapy for disease and restoration of great health. But there's no money in that, is there, and aren't we all addicted to the modern American lifestyle? It's not easy to change, but no one is going to try if they don't kmnow what their chances are, because goverenments globally illegally censor the latest scientific nutritional health information through these unnacountable regulatory agencies. It was FDR who played a big role in transferring the power of our three branches of government to unaccountable regulatory agencies? I guess the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights is standing in their way. Excuse me for living, FDR, and Jon Stewart, who I heard the other day in a rebroadcast, telling Bill O'Reilly (paraphrase here) to "forget this outdated idea of the three branched, separation of powers; this President is going to get things done!" I hope the public becomes aware of Mr Emord's other book, Global Censorship of Health Information. I stopped reading when I became aware of Tyranny. It's not pleasant information, but it's important to raise awareness and help educate the public, so they can make informed choices about their health.
I feel sorry for Michael Douglas, who like Patrick Swayze, isn't really aware that there is a real battle going on for the
minds of mankind. This book shows how we have an exiled Consitution, and that we're globally in enemy territory when
we pursue investigating at point of sale, the use of nutritious food and supplements to alleviate disease. Lifesaving information is being kept from us by illegitimate use of the force of law. The book is also a tribute to those who jeopardize their careers by blowing the whistle.
